What information should I know before riding an e-bike?
For your safety, we strongly recommend that you read our electric bike USER MANUAL before riding.
Is this Dolas e-bike model approved in Europe?
Yes, all Dolas e Bike models comply with CE standards. The Defender Mini and Defender Ninja models have a rated motor power of 250 W, a maximum speed of 25 km/h and comply with EU traffic regulations, meaning that they can be used on the road without a driving license.
The Defender 250 and Defender Sahara models are equipped with a motor output of 3 x 250 W and reach a speed of 45 km/h, which means they are classed as S-pedelecs.
Do I need a driving licence to ride the e-bike?
Defender Mini & Defender Ninja (250 W, 25 km/h)
Normal e-bikes (pedelecs) in accordance with EU regulations
No driving license required

May be ridden on cycle paths and public roads

Is it possible to test ride all e-bike models?
Yes, we offer free test rides for all models in our Berlin showroom.
How do I charge the battery?

Is it possible to transport children on your e-bikes?
Important information on taking children on an e-bike:
Pedelecs (up to 25 km/h, 250 W)
Child seat or special rear seat possible
The child must be securely strapped in
Cycle paths and roads permitted
What is the difference between the various motors and which ones are legal?
Pedelec motors (up to 250 W, max. 25 km/h)
Registration-free – no registration or driver’s license required
Motor only assists when pedaling

Where can I get my e-bike repaired?
Our e-vehicles are designed for the global market and use only proven, globally available branded products from leading manufacturers. This guarantees the long-term availability of spare parts and allows our customers to have their e-bikes serviced by any qualified e-bike mechanic.
Is it possible to modify or increase the performance of my e-bike?
For legal reasons, we do NOT offer tuning or performance-enhancing accessories and point out that such measures will void any warranty and result in the loss of the operating licence in public road traffic.
What factors influence the range of an e-bike?
The range of an e-bike can vary greatly depending on the type of vehicle, weight, terrain, load, tyre pressure and type, wind and road conditions and other factors.
Is it possible to remove the battery from the e-bike?
Yes, it is possible to simply remove the battery and charge and store it at home or in the office.
How long is the battery life?
The batteries in our e-bikes use high-quality Samsung/LG cells. Nevertheless, as a wearing part, an e-bike battery loses about 21-26% of its initial capacity within 700-900 charging cycles. One charging cycle corresponds to a full charge from 0-100%.
What to do if my country / location is not displayed in the order process?
We would be happy to prepare an individual offer for you. Please contact us.
How will my new e-bike be delivered and how difficult is it to assemble?
The e-bikes are delivered almost ready to ride in a special box. The battery should be charged. If you have any questions or problems, a personal customer chat is available.
How much does shipping cost to my country?
You can find information on shipping costs on the corresponding page Payments & Delivery.
Can customers from Switzerland order their e-bike?
Yes, it is possible! Apart from delivery costs, the customer must also pay customs clearance fees and import sales tax.
Can I collect my new e-bike myself?
Yes, you can pick up your e-bike directly in Berlin (Test Ride Station). Simply select “Pick up” during the order process and we will contact you to arrange an appointment.
How long does it take for a new e-bike to be delivered?
