Important! Please note!
S-pedelecs are electric bicycles with a special feature: They can reach speeds of up to 45 km/h. This means they are faster than conventional e-bikes and can be used on many roads like a normal moped.
What distinguishes an S-pedelec from a normal e-bike?
Higher speed: S-pedelecs can travel at speeds of up to 45 km/h, whereas normal e-bikes are generally limited to 25 km/h.
Licence: The same regulations apply to S-pedelecs as to mopeds. This means that you need a category AM or B driving licence and must wear a helmet.
Insurance: S-pedelecs must be insured.
Equipment: S-pedelecs are often equipped to a higher standard than normal e-bikes and have more powerful motors and larger batteries.
Advantages of S-pedelecs
Fast travelling: You can cover longer distances quickly and comfortably with an S-pedelec.
Flexibility: S-pedelecs are suitable for both urban traffic and trips into the countryside.
Environmentally friendly: S-pedelecs are an environmentally friendly alternative to cars as they do not cause any local emissions.
Areas of application for S-Pedelecs
Commuters: S-pedelecs are ideal for commuters who want to get to work or school quickly and comfortably.
Shopping: S-pedelecs are practical for shopping as you can transport larger loads.
